Ninety Twenty Workshops provide art and craft skill-building in Metalsmithing, Digital Fabrication and Woodworking. Jewelry workshops and classes are available in 2020.

We are now offering BOTH online and in person jewelry making classes!

Ninety Twenty Workshop offers a craft education through jewelry making and metalsmithing, to a diverse range of students at many skill levels. Learning through hands-on making, students are provided with tools and materials, varied subject matter, and highly skilled instruction for personal and professional growth and in the field.

Ninety Twenty Workshop

These classes are taught by Christine Clark, former Department Head and Professor of Metals at Oregon College of Art and Craft, where she taught for over 30 years. COVID-19 (and the closure of OCAC in 2019) inspired her to make short format classes online. She’s launched a “no fire” series for beginners to familiarize students with the characteristics of non-ferrous metals. There are a lot more classes in store, including the “fire” series, which will get into more advanced processes of jewelry and metalsmithing. The first class is FREE - sign up and check it out.

Teen Jewelry Days

Do you have a teen who is interested in making jewelry? Start them off with this two-day workshop. For ages 12-16 years, we will bring them quickly into the jewelry making world. Learn to make a variety of pieces with different metals through soldering, hammering, forming, piercing and more. No experience necessary. Instructor: Arielle Brackett

Lost Wax Casting 2

An extension of Casting 1, continue working with wax work as you centrifugally cast your models in bronze or sterling silver. Learn the process of rubber mold making to create multiples that can be duplicated or altered to make new designs based on previous waxes. Coin Ring

Create a ring from a quarter or an old silver coin! In this 4 hour class, cut, fold, shape, and size your ring while preserving the details of the coin on the inside and outside. Fabrication Techniques with Cuttlebone Casting

Combine the magic of cuttlebone casting with fabrication techniques such as soldering frames for pendants or brooches, making shanks for rings, or simply use cuttlebone cast textures to enhance a jewelry design. Anticlastic Bracelets

Anticlastic raising! That’s what you’ll be doing in this two-session workshop. Working with a flat sheet of copper or brass, use hammers and specially shaped stakes to form and create an elegant copper cuff. Leave this class with at least one completed cuff and the possibility of making more. No experience necessary. Instructor: Arielle Brackett

Want a private class for yourself, with one other person, or a group? We can accommodate from one to seven students. Let’s discuss what you want to learn and how long the class should be, at most any skill level. Get in touch and we’ll talk!

Refund Policy:

Full refund if class cancellation is 7 days before the class begins; 50% refund 5 days before the class begins; no refund 4 days before the class begins. Last minute cancellations or no-shows will not be refunded or rescheduled. If you are sick, please stay home and get well! If you miss a class that has multiple sessions, the teacher will make every effort to catch you up, within reason.

Studio Access Policy:

Students have access to the studio to work outside of class time if they are currently enrolled in a class. This benefit ends when the class is over. Students enrolled in one day classes are not eligible. However, Post-Class Studio Access is available. This opportunity allows you to work during open studio hours. Pay for 1, 2, or 3 hours each time you visit. You must be a former Ninety Twenty Workshop student to qualify. Click here to register


COVID protocol

Some of our instructors and students are still wearing masks. We have masks available for those who choose to wear them. However, it is left up to the individual if they’d like to wear a mask or not. Masks are not required.
